ok, here is my problem, I have a 350 that I could put together and have running, but comp recommend I run at least 9.5:1 compression with my ca, and this motor would be about 8.5:1 even with thin headgaskets and 64cc heads.
I have another 350 that ran fine when I pulled it, but has a little bit of surface rust in the barrels from sitting(dam florida air!), I could re-ring it and use it, but then I would have thrown $300 out with the cam I bought. (non roller block)
Yes, I could swap the pistons in the first motor for flat-tops, between balancing andnew pistons, rings, and balancing it would cost me about $500.
last idea, buy a $500 S-10 or somethingas a daily driver and save up and build the motor to spec.

yea, deep dishes w/ valve reliefs, I've crunched the #'s a couple of times. 8.5:1, not ideal for a performance motor unless you strapping a blower to it, but with a cast crank, pistons, ad factory rods, no thank you
