Can you name the manufacturer of this cam?
I bought a 355 shortblock sometime ago and I was told it has a compcam 268 in it. Well I ended up selling the motor to a guy, who Im now friends with, and when he tore it down to relube everything there was no comp cam numbers on it... the only ID #s are laser etched on the back side,, unlike the normal hand etching you see. Any ideas who makes this cam Ive called every manufac. I could think of with the #s on back and they dont mach anything...heres some pics... thanks.....115835/260847......cwc.......1538 and the lift is .477/.480 which matches the 268 but no cc markings....weird

"CWC" is CWC Textron, the largest makers of OEM and generic cams and cam blanks.

I found that out after typing it in on yahoo, right after I posted this thread, how did anything get done before the internet ? lol... You got any guesses Apeiron?

CWC IS WHO MAKES THE CAMSHAFT BLANK. IT IS THEN SENT OUT TO CUSTOMERS FOR THEM TO GRIND. I HAVE THIS SAME CAM BUT WITH DIFFERENT BOTTOM NUMBER. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO ACTUALLY GROUND THIS CAM?
