TBI to Carb gains
Currently running a TBI setup that I have pretty much maxed out as far as the TBI unit is concerned. On motor the car is running solid 13.6 second 1/4 miles. Around 12.8 with a 100 shot of nitrous. My plans this summer are to take off the TBI and replace it with a good size carb, say a 650 or 700cfm.
Also, the cam would be upgraded substaintally from what i already have, which is a comp .427 / .430 (ball park numbers, dont have my cam card on me.) What should i expect to gain my swapping to carb and say a cam with around .500 lift?
Info:
gm aluminum intake
vortec heads
smog, ac, cat delete
edelbrock shortys to flowmaster super 40
comp cam (.427/.430) estimate
putting out around 330-340hp as is.

Re: TBI to Carb gains
I would not say that you have maxed out TBI yet. Put a Bigblock throttle body on it or a bored out throttle body. Add you cam and start tuning. I would assume that you can tune now?? You will have 700cfm capable throttle body and maybe upgrade the injectors/fuel pressure reg. And you will still beable to get good mileage/cold starts/and the ability to tune the ecm for varaible coditions and Parts etc. I dont think you would gain much if it was tuned right. Just my 2c's
