How to prevent spark plug wires from touching manifold?

Whats the easiest way to do this because I have melted about 4 out of 8 of my spark plug wires and am about to put new wires in. How do I go about preventing them from being melted?

Also sorry I couldn't use the search. I have to go to an appointment and want to work on my camaro right when I get home to get some things done before dark. Thanks,
Justin.

Is this why your camaro wasn't starting? I would use the guides. You can get a set that bolt onto your valve covers and guide them away from the manifolds.

Use tie-Straps, I had the same issue. Just take a couple wires and tie-strap them together or to the valve-cover screws.

I had the same problem years ago, so I bought Taylor heat sleeves from summit and have had a problem since.

Melting plug wires, now they can touch all they want and nothing happens.

Like he said get some of these, all the race cars have them to keep the wires from melting on the headers. They may look expensive but trust me i use them they really work. Mine sit right on the headers and have NEVER melted a wire.

Yes I'm sorry, I did mean "haven't had a problem since". I have 1 3/4" headers and my plug wires also sit on my headers or are very close too.

Re: How to prevent spark plug wires from touching manifold?

nope, i tried this on mine and thats how they got burnt.
i was trying for a cleaner look.
now i need new wires.
although in the defense of routing them under the headers, mine are universal, not fitted, so that could be part of the problem.

Re: How to prevent spark plug wires from touching manifold?

you have to have universal wires to fit it all up right

under the headers is the cleaner look

go to jamon8.com and look at my tpi setup

I think it looks good without all those wires hangin out covering my mt valvecovers
