Check out this Spark Plug
Anyone think this is cause for alarm? Normal Carbon buildup? WTF is going on here. The rest of the plugs were just rounded off and due for a change. I pulled this plug out of the Number 8 cylinder.
Re: Check out this Spark Plug
lol your sig is great. are you leaking oil in that cylinder? that plug looks insane dude.... def. keep your eyes on it. not normal at all.
heres something you may be interested in, concerning spark plug condition:

That looks like coolant deposits to me. Are you losing coolant?

Yes I do loose a little coolant here and there. I always thought it was through the intake manufold because there is always antifreeze around the manifold area. Could it possibly have leaked into that cylinder over time and caused this?
As far as I know there is no significant oil leak. There is usually just inder a 100 mililiters less than I put in when I change it. To be expected with an engine that has 189,000 miles on it.

Re: Check out this Spark Plug
Well I'm not sure if it was sparking on all cylinders, probably not with the looks of it ey?
Head gaskets will come with my complete engine overhaul when I get back from Brazil in 2 years.
The car is being stored in Nevada where its nice and Hot and Dry, I had the plugs in my glove box before I made the trip and decided to change them. Glad I did, I'd hate to think what that chunk of crap would do to my valves if it broke off while cruising along at 80MPH.
Thanks for the opinions. I agree with you guys, the car does leak coolant, has ever since I bought it 3 years agao.

I'm leaning towards this. Are those little water beads on the threads? Was this thing even running on that cylinder?
