Blower motor stays on. Why?
Blower motor stays on. Why?
Hey guys. I got a new blower motor a while back and it worked fine. I used the fan speed selector in the car to choose from hi to low or to turn off you know. Then one morning when it was real cold I had the blower on hi and the controls inside set to heat and the lower control set to come out the bottom. Then when I went to slide the control to turn it off it just stayed on and the blower ran on high. So had to manually pull the plug on the blower itself to turn off. What could that be. I messed with the heater controls inside and unplugged each one and plugged them back in but the blower just blows on high. What could that be guys? I would like to fix this before I go sell the car at a car show. Its on my 82 trans am.

I'd say your dash switch is bad. There's really nothing else in the path.

Re: Blower motor stays on. Why?
when the blower motor is running with the key off, give the high speed blower relay a tap or 2 with a screw driver.
if the blower shuts off the relay is sticking.
if the blower shuts off the relay is sticking.
