a big F. up on my part..
okay so.. my car was over heating.i bought a new thermostat for it... i startd to take it off.. i got 1 bolt loose.. then the other bolt..broke off in the intake!!! ok so me and my dad started to drill it out... we got thru it.. went to try to get it out with a easy out thing..its to get out broken bolts after u drill a hole thru.... anyway.. 1 turn of the "easy" out..and snap! it broke... damn piece of crap.. so we drilled it for nothing lol.......... started over.. and i started to drill again ..i guess it slipped off the bold and went into the intake so now.. theres a bolt..well half a bolt..and a big ol hole right beside it! anyway to fix this without gettin a new intake? i plan on getting a new intake ddown the road but i have no money for 1 right now..
oh and yeah..i know i should have paid more attention..

Re: a big F. up on my part..
Did you try welding a hunk of bar to the bolt to use as leverage? Or is the bolt now too drilled out to weld onto? If you dont have a welder For... well... about the cost of a new intake you could buy a wire feed welder from Lowes or somewhere. They're real easy to use. And you could fill in that hole, too, if I'm understanding what the problem is.
Anyway, that's how I'd do it.
Make sure to use lots of WD40.

i dont have a welder.. but yeah i'd read a few other forums about bolts getting broke off and what they use... so far i'v read that welding another bold on it is the best option.. BUT if i egt some weld splatter anywhere else im kind of F'ed then.. or..so i'd read... i would heat it up.. but its right next to the fuel lines.... is that a good idea?? lol .. im pretty sure i spend probably $25 in drill bits... they all are junk! they either arnt sharp enough to cut it.. or i get a good cut going then bam! its broke.. i had it all the way thru then the damn easy out thing broke... i'd read plenty of forums that say that aint "easy" lol..... now that i know that.. i wont use em again

Yeah, you have to be careful of fuel and splatter, but the wire feeds wont splatter much if you're conservative about getting it on there, and if you have any kind of ceramic grinding wheel, (like a dremel or foredom, but you could hotwire an old fashioned two speed reversable) you can grind off any splatter. Because its an intake manifold, you dont have to worry about critical failure if it gets scratched a bit... all it does is direct air flow. Well- best of luck. I know what its like to be kinda stuck on a project because of a broken bolt or something.

Re: a big F. up on my part..
pictures would help, but from the sounds of it... no welder... so that options out... a chisle sometimes works.. but since you allready drilled it out... maybe not... drill it out... but that didn't work.. bud you better just park it till you can shell out $$$ for a new intake maybe go to a junk yard and get one for $20... and use that till you can get a performance intake...

Re: a big F. up on my part..
daaaam same thing happened to me! car started overheating i thought it would be a fun project to change the thermostat myself and then both of the bolts broke!!! and i tried using the drill kit for removing broken bolts and they just brake so easy i dont have a welder or experience welding so i saved up for almost a year now and just today i spent 900 bucks on a set of the vortec heads everyone is talking about and the edelbrock tpi intake for vortec heads now dont make fun that i spent so much i know there are other cheaper alternatives but i always wanted to beef up the 305 and any advice on cam selection for this setup would be great now that i have the motor apart

I have a MIG welder and it has saved me so much money on broke bolts. Just weld on another bolt to the old one and with the heat it usually comes right out.

Does this make any cents? to anyone?
You didn't want to pay $20.. cause you thought it was rediculous... but you wanna shell out $50????
Sounds like your terrible at bargaining.. your supposed to go lower not higher.

Congrats on getting the bolt out.
JB weld is like a high grade rubber cement. The website says it can take 500oF and will fail in 10 min at 600oF. I'd say try and get it replaced ASAP, but the JB should hold.
