still leaking antifreeze

my camaro had a messed up radiator, so i bought a brand new one, installed it, added antifreeze and the antifreeze leaks from the block? why is it doing this? im kinda mad now, i thought thats all it would need but now its leaking out from there.

a little history, the old radiator had many holes, i poured antifreeze into it and it just emptied out, so now i bought a new one and the above problem persists.

Re: still leaking antifreeze

You need to be specific about where it is leaking from.

Ensure you've cleaned all possible spillage up and then start the motor and locate the source of the leak.

If you post where EXACTLY its leaking from, others can try to help you. There are a lot of places to get a coolant leak at that can be normal (overflow), leaking hoses, leaking freeze plugs, etc...

Hopefully its something minor.

A pressure tester will be a big help in troubleshooting your problems. I bought one for about $50, but I've heard of people renting them from Autozone. Once you have your system filled up, put the pressure tester where the radiator cap goes on the radiator and pump it up to 15 psi. This will show you where most leaks are.

Re: still leaking antifreeze

freeze plugs definitly probly the one by the motor mounts tow it to a shop and tell them you need new freeze plugs i got (1) replaced for about $100 they will have to pull the motor up if its the one on the right side (passenger) you dont wanna drive it because by the time you pull into the shop your antifreeze will have leaked out and your motor could crack

Re: still leaking antifreeze

well did you narrow it down yet? or are you still guessing
if it is leaking as bad as you say you should see it as your putting it in so watch for the leak. take a pic of it maybe!
