What kind of gauges are better Electrical or Mechnical?

Depends on your definition of "better". Either will work. Electrical ones can be affected by voltage fluctuations. Name brands ones tend to be more accurate. Some folks don't like running high pressure oil through nylon lines into the passenger compartment.
