Probably here but....
Probably here but....
Sorry if this topic has been discussed many times before, but I have not been able to find it. I am starting work on my 86 TA and I am wanting to supercharge the 305 in it. I have read that it would be a waste of time and would be better off putting a SC on a 350 instead, but my dad has had the car since I was 16 and would like to keep as much original as possible. I still might go with a 350 , but here is my real question. Can someone direct me to the link for the mods needed in supercharging my car? Engine bay changes needed, rear end needs, etc.. Thanks guys!!

I think there's one or two members on here who have supercharged their 305's. Nothing wrong with it.
You can always upgrade the engine below later.
Are you thinking roots, centrifugal, what?
I think you need to do a LOT of research on this before even considering it. Look into a Vortech kit, D1SC, Eaton, etc etc and see what you think. Some kits can contain everything you need, and some will require extra parts. price the whole thing out first.

Thanks Sonix!!
I have looked at some Vortech kits. I can't remember the kit at the moment, but I believe it came with everything I will need as far as the SC goes. I know that I will need to replace the multi-belt setup with a serpentine one. Since I am tearing the engine down to the bare block, it won't be a problem.
On the other hand, a budget is an issue too. I am also looking into whether purchasing a 350 long block would be cheaper.
