350 Buildup, 638 rollerblock?

I have two of these block. Both are standard bore 2 bolt main 350 roller blocks.

One is complete and running, one is torn down, & I want to build it up.

I want to use XE268 477.480, how would this work since this is a roller block? I also want to use vortec heads from a 350? Any buildup ideas as far as pushrods, rocker arms, intake, carb, bottom end....ect? The stock crank is good.

I didnt paint it either, it was this was when I got it. Im gonna pressure wash it off.

Will never see the track, just a nice street motor. 300-350 hp would be nice

Came up with this so far.

Edelbrock Performer RPM
Edelbrock 600 CFM or Holley 600 CFM
Comp Cams XE-268
Vortec Heads

thats a very good place to start for a mild street motor. your cam choice is good but very conservative. ive got the xe274 flat tappet in my roller block and its still very streetable. its got ported vortec heads and stamped 1.6 rockers. edelbrock rpmairgap and a q750dp. according to my trap speeds it makin near 400 and i havent even touched the carb yet.

although mine is a 4bolt a 2 bolt will hold up to whatevr that cast crank can handle. i plan on sprayin mine w/ a 100 shot as well

Hate to see a good roller block go to waste. Reconsider your flat tappet plans.

I thought about it. I was going with a lunati roller, thats about $300 or more. The ones I seen have too much lift. Not really looking to go that route.
