Gasket matching heads
I just got in my Felpro 1205 intake gaskets and intended on matching the ports on the new Trickflow 195 heads I bought. I have marked the intake ports with a sharpie and laid on the intake gasket, I then marked around the inside of the gasket to show how much material on the head to remove.
My question is though that the gasket is smaller than the head port at the bottom of the port.. Should I just increase the size of the gasket here or what? If I increase the size of the gasket, I am worried that the gasket will end up to big to be able to port match the TPI intake base.
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks!
Richard.

I am attaching a pic of the intake ports on the heads. I have scribed the outline (inline maybe?) of the 1205 gasket and as you can see (I circled one port) the bottom of the gasket protrudes into the port area.

Second question :-
In removing the valve springs in preparation for the port work, I find it impossible to re-install the keepers. The reason seems to be that my valve spring compressor allows the spring to arc thus positioning the valve stem off center of the hole in the retainer - see pics.
What can I do about this to allow me to get the keepers back in when i re-install the springs? Should I just bend my compressor tool or do I need to buy a different type of tool?

Are those the recommended gaskets? I personally don't know one way or the other, but they shouldn't be smaller than the port anywhere.
As to the keepers, put in one on the side that has the gap and let all the pressure off of the spring (slowly) to allow the keeper to catch the retainer. That will move the retainer over. Then compress the spring again to get the other keeper in.

Re: Gasket matching heads
Yep - Recommended gasket size per the instructions I recieved with the heads.
I will try your tip with the keepers - thanks.
