roller rocker and valve covers
I pulled my valve covers the other day just to get some room to work on the car and saw that the paint on my fully roller rocker was rubber off on some of them and saw that the valve covers had marks on them where they touched. I have tall valve covers from summit and a comp cam with 600 lift i adj. them when i installed a year ago. But the engine runs great at every rpm. should i adj. them again or what.
thanks
thanks
Re: roller rocker and valve covers
IF you are using hydraulic lifters and have them operating at shallow lash, AND the rockers are barely interfering, and IF the interference is at the push rod end only, you might get away with running a bit deeper plunger position. Otherwise, you are looking at valve cover adapters to raise the covers, reworking the rocker geometry with shorter valves, different pushrods, and proper adjustment, or different rockers.
Painted rockers? What kind are they?

Yeah I'm using hydraulic lifters. The rockers are 1.5 and painted blue. I bought them from a local speed shop. Not sure what brand they are, I'm guess and off brand. maybe it just the valve covers them self's not being wide enough. There's no noise at idle that sounds like something is wrong with the valve train. I'm guessing it happens to high rpm then.
