86 iroc vortec upgrade

so i am in the process of swaping out the original lb9 305 heads for a new set of vortecs i got from jegs i also got the tpi intake manifold for vortec heads now i need to know what cam i should get and what rocker setup also what kind of headers will work with this? and any ideas on how to make my car faster with this motor and stock 700 r-4 tranny will help

You need self-aligning rockers for the Vortec heads.

Stock runners? Not too much cam, then. A Comp XE262 would probably be all you'd want to do.

Hooker 2055HKR headers would be perfect.

I would like to ad Vortec heads to the IROC I purchased this week. I have them on my rebuilt Caprice engine and it is a VERY strong runner!

When will you have your engine running with your new Vortec heads?

should be done by may 1st ill post how it runs then im hoping to be able to run with my friends lt1 camaro he has a cold air form moroso and a magnaflow exhaust hes been bragging about how his car is way faster than mine maybe i can shut him up soon

btw im hoping to get the slp runners soon i like the look and hookers do sound like a good plan how hard are they to install w/out removing motor? oh i think youre the same guy who told me to get the xe262 last time thanks i just ordered it with the timing chain and the lifter kit the other day do you think i can beat my friends lt1 with these upgrades he has the moroso cold air and magnaflow exhaust on his lt1 camaro
