I'm Stupid
Guys, I made a boo boo. When I had the small coolant leak with the HSR and rinsed it with the hose, I didn't have the valve covers bolted down ( only sitting on the studs and gasket). I had some "milkshake" on the dipstick and some coolant in the pockets on the heads. I didn't even think about not having the covers tight until today; when I was going to try to start it for the first time since installing the intake.
Do you think I will be okay to drain the oil, install new oil and filter then run engine to operating temp, drain, change filter and be good to go?

Re: I'm Stupid
Thanks for the extra confidence. Will do on drying up the extra water in the heads; driver side is already done.

Re: I'm Stupid
I started thinking......
If you can, Do you have a shaft to spin the oil pump, without starting the car? You'd hafta pull the dizzy, insert the shaft, then spin the oil pump to pump oil & leftover water through the system, hoping to flush as much as possible, down to the oil pan.
Might be overkill protection, but better than cooking bearings.

Re: I'm Stupid
I do, and I thought about that myself. I may go that route; just have to find my oil pump primer.
