dont know the proper place but 4th gen
Im looking at this 4th gen camaro, it looks like a trap to me but idk, i mean I really do want a camaro with a standard, although i'd rather have a v8, so what do you guys think? http://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/1107955717.html
he said he would let me have it for $1200 I need something that runs good, not that i have to work on every week. it has 160,000 miles, but im on a $1500 budget for now.

4.3? unless he swapped the motors it should have the 3.4 in it and those are super good motors, not good for going fast but can go along time if taken care of and sip pretty good on gas
Re: dont know the proper place but 4th gen
thats what i figured but I talked to him and he said it needs an alignment and stuff but the engine was rebuilt? I mean it does have a lot of new parts so it should be reliable right? unless the tranny is messed up or something, whats the deal with the toggle switch though?

its probably like our cars and the fans never come on when they should so thats the only way to get them on lol but if it was actually rebuilt it sounds like a good buy to me but have you driven it and felt how the tranny shifts?
Re: dont know the proper place but 4th gen
no im going sunday with money in hand and we will see what happens, ill probably end up taking it, its about 150 miles away. The v6's for that year have about 160 hp right?
Re: dont know the proper place but 4th gen
i just got a 1994 v6 4th gen with a 5 speed the car is great axcept the head gaskets are leaking i traded my 3rd gen for it but the 3rd gen needed alot more wotk then it was worth so any how the 4th gen with the v6 and 5 speed that i have is freaking great . Summit has headers with down pipe for it and a 75 mm maf sensor and they even make a chip for it but i cant seem to find a cam that is computer friendly ...... so any how i say if the one you are going to look at runs good and the trans shifts nice go for it ya only live once and mine has the 3.4 in it now if i could just find a 4th gen message board as good as this one things would be perfect

he says he doesnt have a title, the bank has it cuz he took out a loan on it to pay for all the new parts, he said he would pay the loan off once I pay him, but i could take the car home, he is out of state, is there anything that can go wrong with this?

Not to be disagreeable, but since the topic has nothing to do with thirdgens, I'm surprised it hasn't been closed. Good luck with your hunt.

James; I never have liked the 4thgens as well as the thirdgens, but the car sounds like it might be good. I have to agree with watson90z and say go to the bank with him and make sure the loan is paid off, otherwise, dont do it.
I hope this one works out better than the last one....
Re: dont know the proper place but 4th gen
I looked at it today, good condition, just the hatch doesnt lock shut, it shifts nice and smooth, the top end of the engine is rebuilt, has a larger radiator, the toggle switch is set up really neat, drives great. Engine is all clean and nice, good interior, nice stereo, doors and windows work, new tires too! lol im going to get it tomorrow, were going to the bank with him.

For a 40 hp jump, you will be spending a lot of money. This might not be the right board for that car because it is a 4th gen. As long as you are able to get the title clean and clear, it's not a bad buy. With the problems on the last car, glad to see you are able to get something reliable.
