Sounds like I've got a bird living in my bird

A strange noise has developed within the last two weeks on my '86 Trans Am. I've got a carbed 305 and a 5 speed manual transmission. Driving around town a noise that I can only best describe as a bird flapping its wings sounds like its coming from the back of my motor or front of my transmission. It comes and goes. I crawled under my car today and didn't see anything visually wrong with it. Anyone have any ideas? I've already got problems with my clutch, the throw out bearing or something is going, it growls when I push the clutch in and coast.

Sounds like you need a new clutch. Sounds like chatter to me. A clutch kit should come with the clutch, pressure plate, alignment tool, and throw-out bearing.

Sweet, a new clutch. I guess chatter fits it too. It doesn't sound metallic at all though, its a weird fluttering muffled sound. But I guess that could be the clutch too, since it's sandwiched in there.
