Convertering from points

Not sure if this is the right spot for this but here it goes. I still have points ignition on my 1970 350 block and i want to convert to HEI what distributor do i need? Should i go with computer controlled if i want to add a MSD digital ignition box? or should i just buy the box and keep the points?

Thanks Chas

Re: Convertering from points

You can simply drop in a large cap HEI distributor. Supply a good switched hot source wire and it's ready to go.

With all the superior electronic ignitions available including the factory ones like the large cap HEI, there's no reason to run points.
