so ive had my car for a year now it ran fine and everything but today i get my cousin to help me change the spark plugs,wires, cap and rotor and nothing is in its place! all the wires according to the haynes manual are wrong in fact one wire going to cylinder 7 was just hanging not even connected then on another plug connecting to the rotor it was so corroded that inside the plug you couldnt see any metal at all. it had an accel cap and rotor but why would the wires be all wrong and why was my car running fine? the only thing was that it smelled a little like gas but that was it? anyone know whats going on here maybe something aftermarket the old owner did that changes what plug goes to what cylinder??

 

ha im such an idiot! in the book they have bolts in between every 2 plugs on the cap i had them off by 1! btw this was my first tune up not too bad took me about 3 tries and my car is still running although my gauges are all messed up except speedo and tach just because i wanted cool reverse glow gauges i took off the needles and now none are accurate and if anyone is selling their gauges i will be needing them

 

hey man, like if you find a voltage gauge. let me know. Mine doesnt work. i think its the alternator. i put in one for 84. it has 85amps but i need 108amp alternator. oh well. and when you do a tune up. time the engine and adjust the tps, and idle. PEACE
