Pre 87 head on newer style block?
Can aluminum heads designed for pre 87 block be used on 87-later blocks if the correct intake is used?

the only difference is the bolt angle on the middle intake bolts. 72 deg. instead of 90. W/ correct intake it's a bolt in deal.

So if you had say a set of heads from an 86' 305 you could also use your intake from the same motor and bolt it on to say, an 89' 305?

Interesting.. I have heads that were rebuilt with no actual miles on it (a bit of time running before I realized the bottom end was toast) that I wouldn't mind keeping for a spare set since the heads on my rs are getting close to rebuild time.
