Seafoam Issue

I have been planning on using seafoam. And as i was told to do, use the brake booster hose to suck it up.

Well just a few minutes ago i went to see what hose, found it easily.. but when i took it off the engine INSTANTLY cut off.

lol How the h3ll am i supposed to use it if my car shuts off?

Re: Seafoam Issue

keep one hand on the throttle and keep it open enough for the car to run. might be a good idea to use a different vacuum hose that's a bit smaller too instead of the gigantic brake booster hose.

Yes, using the PCV hose which routes into the intake would be a good place to do it. Don't let it suck it up all at once, little by little, vacuum is strong.

Or you could pick up some Deep Creep which is just an aerosol version of Seafoam which will allow you to just remove the intake tubing and spray directly into the intake plenum.

I will be (as my car is not running yet) pouring Seafoam in my tank (1 bottle per tank) and spraying deep creep into my TBI. Good to go and ready for emissions testing.

Ok, Where could i find deep creep or w/e? If napa or advance carries it i can get it no prob. It also sounds A LOT easier.

Advance has it cheaper than NAPA here (West Texas).

Here is what I did to Seafoam mine. With the car off, I pulled the brake booster line and inserted a screw (not big enough to completely plug the line, just enough to create a small leak). I started the car, then just dipped the line in the Seafoam. This only let it suck up a little bit, but didn't create a huge leak that would kill the car, and was cleaner than the recommended 'thumb over vacuum line' method.
