Another "What the...?!"
Someone tell me what this is and why it's here...


Heater-core bypass?? Between this and the A/C unit being unplugged, I'm guessing I have no HVAC.

Since the valve is open, I assume its not a overly complicated way to block water from leaking heater core. Other possibility is the heater control valve or controls dont work so this is McGuyver heater switch.

That's actually pretty clever.
But I agree with above, the only thing it's capable of is shutting off flow to the heater core.

Holy old thread, Batman!!! 
She no longer has a heater control valve...that was removed and all the other HVAC equipment was hooked up and running properly at that time.
