Will this combination work
Hello everyone,
I am doing my first engine build and need to see if the following compentents will work. I have a base knowledge but am just concerned about having the correct compression ratio, quench, and so forth. I am going to buy heads from a member of the boards and want to make sure they will work with my combo. Any help or reccomendations you can provide will be much appreciated!
1988 350 roller cam block bored .040", bead blasted & mag'd
block is 2 bolt main, ARP main studs
Eagle 5.7" press pin lightweight rods (SIR5700BPLW)
Federal Mogul hypereutectic pistons already pressed onto rods (H345NP40)
Moly rings (E251K40)
Eagle stock replacement new 350 crank
Cam: Lingenfelter 74216 Hyd Roller 213/219 .493/.502 HR112
Intake and Runners: Accel/Lingenfelter High Flow Intake
Heads: Trickflow (TFS-30400006-CNC)
Combustion Chamber: 56.8 CC
Flow Numbers:
Finished intake port volume 205 cc’s
Intake Flow
.200 @ 140
.300 @ 200
.400 @ 245
.500 @ 274
.550 @ 280
.600 @ 282
Exhaust port finished volume 76 cc’s
.200 @ 108
.300 @ 144
.400 @ 176
.500 @ 190
.600 @ 204
Will it work? If not why? If yes, how good will it be and how can I make it better?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Will this combination work
The first issue is there's not enough info to determine your piston-to-head clearance. Was the block decked? If not, you should probably try the FelPro steelshims, check them against your heads, in case the porting made the chambers overhang the gaskets. This should give you a piston-to-head of around 0.040", which is fine. But if the block has been decked, the steelshims are out.
