Temp Sending Unit

Hi All,
Okay, I am trying to find my Temp Sending Unit on my 1983 z-28 305 engine.I know where the sensor is located( by the water neck housing), but I cant seem to find the actual Temp Sending Unit.If anyone can help would really appreciate it.

thanks for the reply.i found it after i wrote the message.i cant figure out what wire would connect to it.there is one wire thats not hooked up, but it only has a spade connection on it.none that would fit that part.

It can be either, My trans am has a basically round plastic connector about 3/4 in in diameter with a smaller round hole in the center that clips down over the sender.

i understand.maybe the actual connector that the spade connector was connected to fell off.I dont know.but hers whats weird.that wire wasnt hooked up before i put my edelbrock on,and the gauge was working.took off the edelbrock and put my quadrajet back on ,and now it does even move.getting 5 vdc at the connector.any other ideas?

Maybe you trapped the wire under the intake or it got cut off?

no, cause it was working after intake was put on.

Could It have gotten pulled out of the wiring loom and fell under the car?
