Lt4 and tpi parts interchange?

Ok, so last night I was at a car show talking to the owner of a tpi vette. He has the usual bolt ons and such but then he mentioned that his engine builder did all kinds of little tweaks here and there to get more power. The one thing that caught my attention is that he said that his motor had an LT4 knock sensor in it. I didn't ask about details but it sounded strange.

Do LT4 knock sensors fit our tpi engines? What would this do to performance, maybe more ignition advance for those with noisy valvetrain? Does anyone know about this?

I still need help with this. I have been searching all day and haven't found much yet. Can someone shed light on this?

yeah I'll do that but I've been told that the best thing to do for my application is get a knock sensor from 86 or older because it is less sensitive. That might be something to look into.

Re: Lt4 and tpi parts interchange?

IIRC, the LT1 and LT4 used the same knock sensor but a different knock module. The LT4 module was less sensitive that the LT1 unit to help the ECM fliter out some of the noise from the roller rockers the LT4 came with. The module is only for OBDII cars though IIRC, so it won't do anything in an OBD1 car because they never had the module to begin with - the signal from the sensor just went straight to the ECM. It won't work on a TPI motor.
