Starter "slipping"
Hi,
Last time I started the 84 T/A, the starter made an horrible slipping noise when turning the ignition on. It did start after a few tries though.
I was thinking the brushes would have to be changed, would it be enough ? Do I have to change the complete starter assembly ?
Thanks

Re: Starter "slipping"
Was the battery fully charged and in good condition when this occurred?

I've just tried with a newer battery (six month old), and it did the same thing...It works one time out of five tries.

Well if your solenoid is good, all your connections are tight and not corroded, then it's probably time for a rebuild or replacement.
