those are AIR tubes... It's emissions stuff. If you hate the environment you can remove them and plug them.

No, you cannot, legally. Federal law takes precedence over state law, so even if your state doesnt do emissions testing, federal law says you cannot remove or disable any emissions devices that came on the car when new. Besides, you'll need that stuff when the current government says all states must start doing emissions testing like California.

While Kevin91Z is 100% correct, there's always a difference between what's legal, and what you can get away with.

Re: mystery part??

When our cars become more desirable people will pay a mint for a good AIR system because everyone hacks em up just because they don't how they look.

Re: mystery part??

Doesn't the AIR system not rob any horsepower, making it not worth the effort to remove?

Yes, it does. It takes power to turn the pump.

Re: mystery part??

Do some weight reduction and take out your cigarette lighter. Makes up for the horsepower loss.

Re: mystery part??

I would just leave it I had that in my 305 Camaro till I dumped in the new 350. Just makes life harder when changing the spark plugs.

Ummmmmmmmmm........ no. All 1/4" pipe threads are the same pitch, at 18 threads per inch.

Re: mystery part??

Yeah it's not worth it to remvoe it unless it becomes a problem for whatever reason. For me I went to a carbureted setup so there was really no point.
