Bad Starter

Pulled the starter out of my 91 Z-28 today thought the soliod was bad did a bench test with a spare batt and the solinod engages but the starter motor does not spin it also makes a clicking sound the starter is olny 2 years old is the starter motor motor bad or could the solinod bad

Apply voltage directly to the motor's power lug (the big connection bus bar between the solenoid and the motor). If it spins, it's the motor is OK and it's the solenoid that isn't completing the connection. If not, the motor is toast.

Ya the starter motor was toast so I just bought a new one and shes up and running again
