SES light and oil pressure gauge spike

Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 700r4
SES light and oil pressure gauge spike
so the SES light in my 87 IROC will come on and my oil pressure guage will spike but nothing happens to the car, everything seems fine and it only comes on occasionally. would my gauge just be malfunctioning?

It could be your voltage that is spiking. What code is getting stored in the ECM?

Im in alaska right now and my dad was driving the car when he was there and thats what he said it was doing and so i was gonna take a look at it when i got back down there, but i do not know what the codes are that are getting stored. I forget but how can i get OBD1 chevys to flash their trouble codes?

Assembly line Diagnostic link, that little connector to the left of your center console under the dash

oh ok, ill have to do that when i get back down to the car, then look for the trouble codes sheet. thanks guys
