Re: 87 iroc wont stay running
Is this a TPI (tuned port) engine or does it now have a carb on it? I'd guess the cam change really screwed up the injection system. You might have to get some serious ECM tuning done to get it to run right, assuming the previous work was even done correctly. Could be many other things too. Pretty much impossible to diagnose over the net. I'd start with checking fuel pressure and try to get the ignition timing somewhere close to right.

ya i dont know what cam or anything is in it. i still havent even went and picked up the car i bought it and its still at the other guys house. but he said after the cam change he picked it up drove about 40 miles and then it did what its doing now when u fire it up it wil run then it will flood out and die and fill up the cylinders with fuel and you have to remove the spark plugs to drain it i was wondering if there is any way the injectors could be sticking ?

Re: 87 iroc wont stay running
the cylinders fill up with FUEL?? as in fill...?
seems you would have a number of problems first of which is injectors locked open really couldnt see the fuel rails having enough in them to fill a cylinder not to mention more than one
also need to change/check the oil cylinders dont really seal when the engine isnt running so that fuel is leaking into the oil and can destroy an engine
does it only leak into 1 specific cylinder or is it random or all of them? would seem like valves might not be sealing properly... granted not the biggest problem at the moment...
that fuel problem isnt caused by a cam or tune though the unknow cam may complicate the situation...
for that much fuel to be accumulating he will have had to have rigged the fuel pump to run off of a switch or something as once the engine had stopped running the pump would shut off and the lines would bleed out into the engine with the injectors stuck open maybe a less than a pint of fuel total across several cylinders...
if you havent already signed the bill of sale dont.... as this sounds like the deepend of fubar
