Idling issues/ stalling mid drive

I dont even know how to describe it.

The first issue is with idling. The car always starts but at different time intervals will just die. some times right after it starts and other times 5 minutes later. The second issue is that while driving it will cut out as well. i'll just be cruising down the road with my foot on the pedal with constant pressure and it will cut out randomly. it never completely dies mid drive, but it feels like i'm taking my foot off the gas for just a moment.

The weirdest part is that it doesnt do either of these things all the time. sometimes it'll do it, other times it wont. there is no pattern to it and even when it is happening the situation in which it stalls is never consistant with it's self.

My car has never had any issues with running before. and it literally just came down out of no where. i was driving to my cross country practice and it started choking then when i got to the park it took me 20 minutes for it to start and stay running and then the first half of the way home was problem free. then when i was slowing down to take a turn it completely stalled out and then stalled close to 8 more times in a 100 yard span before running perfectly fine the rest of the way home.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the heck my car's doing besides it maybe being haunted?

Re: Idling issues/ stalling mid drive

pick up coil probably telling your computer to fire the injectors at random times. or if its hot after 10mins could be the classic heated to death coil syndrome.theres an ignition coil and a pickup coil. the ingnition coil controls the 36,000 volts to plugs. the pickup coil tellt the computer where the pistons are, so it can fire the injectors at the rite time. sounds to me like an ignition problem hence the ignition coil
