To redeem, Camaro owners must arrive at their nearby Papa John’s restaurant in their Camaro to order and pick up their free pizza. Limit one pizza per Camaro, and one visit per Camaro.

Great story though. As someone who had to give up their dream car and who eventually got one (not the original car but close) back 18 yrs later I can relate.

Maybe I'm just being stupid, or not entirely understanding things, but what happened to the sunroof on it? I couldn't imagine someone going through all the work to remove it. It was on the car 26 years ago, but not now?
Anyways, good story, and I'll be making the 40 minute drive to go get a pizza tomorrow.

 

I work at the PJ headquarters and I had a chance to talk to the most recent owner when he came to deliver the car today. When he bought the car about 5 years ago it already had the sunroof filled in and several new pieces of sheetmetal. He sent it off to a body shop to have the panels lined up and professionally painted since they were way off and it needed paint. The amazing part to me was that he painted it back with the original paint sceme knowing that it was going to be a drag car. he said that a couple of his buddies tried to talk him out of painting it that gold color again but "Something just felt right" about the original paint color sceme so he kept it. Then he followed it up by saying he's glad he did because this day just wouldn't have been as special if the car had been dark green or something.

In post #5 I put a link to the pics I took today at the office after they brought the car and we had a celbration. That car was built right and it's beautiful.

Good thing he didn't have something like a Chevelle, then everyone with a GTO, Lemans, 442, Skylark, Cutlass, Monte, GS, El Camino, Grand Prix, or Vista Cruiser (Am I forgetting any?) would want free pizza too, like the people with 'birds.

No point in taking a guy's generosity for granted. He's happy, spent $275,000 on HIS OLD CAMARO....Don't make him go bankrupt, by everyone taking advantage of him.

 

Cost me more in gas than the dang pizza is worth if I were to drive to the closest one Pretty cool that he got his car back My old auto shop teacher found his old car and bought it back. 1966 Chevelle and it still had an old reverb box in the back that he installed plus a mark on the trim where he slipped with a screwdriver.

Local PJ in Calgary is also honoring the free pizza special. It was supposed to be in the US only but here in Calgary, Wednesday nights are cruise nights so the local franchise is doing the same free pizza deal.

Too bad mine isn't street legal.

11.am this morning i politely called my papa johns, talked to the manager, she said that it was real. and i could come and get as many pizzas as i had tagged camaros. so i got 3 pizzas since i have 3 camaros, my brother got 2.
and we got together with some of our buddies and had beers and pizza.

 

me and a few friends did the same thing!! awesome time, so many camaros - so much beer n pizza... damn i feel pregnant... haha

 

yep local PJ's was good on the deal. She was pretty packed as you can see

apparently like 20 people had reserved it online the night before (i dont know how) so dude was flippin out, but still got me one in a reasonable amount of time.

 

I had to tell my local Papa John's about the deal (not hard when you have a smartphone and internet on the go) and then they were cool.

This was quite the reward after an epic trip to retrieve my newly bought RS.
