Do the valve covers on your 305 TPI bolt up in the center of the valve cover or on the sides? I have a 90 Trans am GTA with a 305 and they bolt up in the center, but a GM parts center told me only the 350 valve covers both up in the center (according to her computer).

Re: Attn 305 TPI owners

My '87 LB9 (305) has center bolt covers. She needs to get a new computer.....

Center bolt covers showed up on both 305's and 350's around 1987 MY.

1955-1986 SBC = perimeter bolts, regardless of engine displacement ('55-'58 bolts were off-set top to bottom, '59-'86 bolts were straight across top to bottom).

1987-2000 SBC = center bolts, regardless of engine displacement.
