Re: 90 firebird carb problems

If you've got injectors, its not a carb .

Moving along, if there are 2 injectors in a carb-looking unit, you've got a throttle body injected setup on your car. Since it sounds like Advance is local to you, the kits you'd want to look at would be:

Complete overhaul kit
Injector service kit

Hope this helps

IF you have a timing light available, hook it up and point it towards the injectors while running (if it runs at all). You should see a conical shape spray pattern ( even spray on both sides W/out any drips). What makes you think you need a rebuild kit? What symptoms is your car having?

Re: 90 firebird carb problems

Well the car start for like two seconds and then dies so i thought thefuel filter was clogged so i replaced that now it is doing the same thing so i pulled the line off the throttle body and checked the fuel line and that has a good flow so i think that it is clogged injectors so im hoping that i can clean them and not have to buy new ones. And thank you for the links. that is perfect. im going to advance tommorow to get the overhaul kit.

before you purchase new injectors, and you do not have any luck with the overhaul kit, we can clean and flowtest them for you. Alot cheaper than buying new ones
