Engine: 377 Small block
Transmission: 700R4 Done up
Axle/Gears: 3.42
need help chosing a cam for my set up
so I have 2 cam choices in front of me for my build up, one is a 302 lift intake and exaust at the cam with a duration of 230 for both at .050 and 114degrees of lobe center, the other one has a lift of 320 with a duration of 225 at .050 and 108degrees of lobe center
this is to go in a 377 stroked 350 4 bolt with:
keith black flat top PT.NO. KB134 7cc flat top piston 10.7/1 compression ratio
3.750"stroke 4.00" bore 377 displacement 5.700" I beam rods.
heads
Casting # 002-0902-2153
valves 2.020 intake and 1.6 exaust
Port volume 200cc, extra thick deck, chamber volume 64cc with angle plug,
manganese bronze valve guides, hardened intake and exhaust seats.
and 1.6:1 roller rockers

Linghfelter Accell Supper ram with 20.85lbs/hr injectors at 50psi and a to be developed custom burn ecu
what would be my best bet this is going into a 91 firebird convertible (yeah I know there's some frame stiffening to do!) with stock for the moment 700R4 and 2.72 gears in the rear (will probably change to 3.25)

IM assuming those .302 and .320 lift are lobe lift not valve lift figures?
your valve lift with the stock 1.5:1 ratio would be .453 and .480 at the valve
with a 2.72:1 rear gear and stock converter NEITHER cam is a good choice
IM GOING to ASSUME its a roller cam simply because its a EFI 1991 engine?
swap to a 3.54:1 -3.73:1 rear gear and go with a 2800rpm-3000rpm stall converter and both cams could be used, but without knowing clearances its difficult to guess, if you stay with the current drive train your best choice for a cam will be slightly milder, but the compression ratio is too high, the port size is too large and the injector size too small for a mild cam so ID strongly suggest you make the necessary changes

36 lb injectors
and a cam like this, to maximize the super ram and 377 displacement with its potential high rpm power band

sorry I did not put enough details, the block is a gen 1 std bore 4 bolt, I'm doing the "upgrading" to efi just since that's what I know thanks for the input I guess I will be going to a much taller gear, the 3.54 is probably what I will put in in lew of what you are saying, I'm building this for my father and he wants wild that can still cruise on the highway without screaming the RPM's (tough choice) but the priority is wild fun. I had a feeling the injectors I had wound not be enough unfortunately, they came cheap with the intake package.
Also how much of a difference would I see between the 2800 stall and the 3000?

there will only be a minor difference between a 2800-3000rpm stall converter , keepin mind one companys 3000rpm stall converter may or may not stall at the same speed as another companys 2800 rpm stall converter ON YOUR ENGINE
