the one thats coming from the underside of the engine

My car is a carb'd 1986 Pontiac Trans am 305.

 

If u have a pic of where it goes that'd help too.. IM not very savvy when it comes to engines =]

 

Is the line coming in from the firewall?

 

It seems to be a vaccum line for your emission canister!

 

Take another pic, but NOT as close this time!!! But close enough to see how long the line is and where its going to!

by the way, your EGR valve is unpluged...lol (but you probably knew that)

 

I'm really sorry but I don't think I can be of much help. You got Carb, I have TPI. I've tried looking over and over again, and I don't see any vac lines like that on my car.

Did you or when you bought the car do you know if it was tpi to carb swap or just carb all the time? Because the emission isn't anything you need. Unless your in an emission state. But that line does it have air coming out of it or you have any hissing anywhere on the vehicle? Try your heater and if your not blowing hard air out of the vents i think that might your vacuum line for your heater vacuum line. Possible but i still need a more direct picture where it is at couldn't really see it on the pic if you could circle which one it is i might have more an idea. thanks.

 

He may not be in a emission testing state, but the emission canister does have its uses.... You can't just unplug it.... those lines are also coming from the gas tank. Some of those lines are venting fumes from the tank and into the canister.
