Car just stalled going down the road...

Yesterday, after work, headed out about a mile down busy highway, slowed down for redlight/intersection, and she quit. And of course i freaked out! I kicked into N, coasted to a stop. Tried to re-fire, and nothing. It cranked good, but no fire. I then tried it with pedal floored, (clear flood) and still nothing. But good cranking. Then was thinking of pushing it off to the side, but started shutting down some electrical options, and kept cranking, and luckily it re-fired. This all happened while still at the stoplight, thank goodness. I took off and went up to shopping plaza, and said some prayers. The rest of the drive home was normal.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas. I checked codes later, and that was clear. What about fuel filter? I do think it is due to be replaced. Now I must say that this is not the first time it has stalled on me. The few times i goto track racing, it has stalled in lanes, and in staging area, but always fired back up. I do my own chips, and like to think it is tuned well.
Just looking for ideas...........
Mike

O come on, nobody has any ideas? Wednesday drove car quite a bit, had no issues car ran great. What about the fuel pump? Or some kind of lean condition?
I realize it will be a difficult issue to troubleshoot.

Re: Car just stalled going down the road...

Ignition modules can go flaky and intermittently fail. But really, so can a lot of other things.
