Help Pleasee
ok so last night when i was driving my camaro it started up fine and then i drove it around the block and when i stopped at the stop street it shut off then when i tried restarting it wouldnt stay on i had to push the gas pedal down and hold it at like 1500 rpms for like 20 seconds before it stayed on it drove fine for the rest of the night until i let it sit and it cooled down and when i went out to start it and leave it was hard starting and then it wouldnt stay on i had to restart like 10 times...if i held my foot on the gas pedal it would stay on but if i pushed it down more the car would stall out as if it were drowning it took me 30 minutes to get the car to stay running with me only holding the gas pedal a little then when i drove home at every stop i had to put it in neutral and keep revving it to keep it on or else it would stall....also when i was first driving it it the car would rev really high like 2500 and yet it would only be going 20mph
the car is a 305 86 berlinetta automatic with about 124000 miles on it

Re: Help Pleasee
I would check fuel pressure, air filter, idle air control valve, and ignition timing first. TBI or carb? Look for vacuum leaks also.

Re: Help Pleasee
I would also check the battery and charging system just to rule out the easy stuff first.
