I took of the TB, cut off the coolant nipples, then filled in the rest with a JB weld stick and sanded it smooth. You'll never know it was there and makes TB removal a snap. I also re did the coolant lines and got rid of the coolant bypass valve. Looks nice and neat.

Re: tb coolant bypass???
basically you take that 180* elbow hose (connecting from the intake manifold to the tb) and remove it. then take your heater hose comming from the fire wall and plumb it right into the intake manifold (where the 180*elbow was). thus eliminating the tb. on mine, i dont have my heater hoses (bad heater core) so i took the hose from the intake manifold (where the 180* elbow was) and hooked it straight to the port on the radiator right below the radiator cap.
an easier method (if you dont want to get rid of some hoses) is to simply put a "connector" or whatever they call it (just a tube you can connect 2 hoses to) and use that with the exhisting hoses from the heater hose to the intake. kinda ugly having extra leangth of hoses everywhere

If the weather holds up i'll pop of my TB and take some pics tomorrow for you. It's alot easier than you think. Id advise getting rid of the coolant bypass valve also as they are a problem waiting to happen and look crappy under our hoods no matter were you route them.

What is in that link and pictured is the easiest way to do a coolant bypass. Looks to me to be easy and clean! IMO.

Re: tb coolant bypass???
When i take some pics you'll see how nice it looks not having the coolant bypass there either. I actally left it on for a while but was tired of how crappy it looked having all those hoses laying around. Now i have just one hose that runs along the top of the valve cover by the injector harness going directly from the front of the intake to the heater core.

Re: tb coolant bypass???
No problem man....It really cleans up your engine compartment nice. Plus if you run a colder thermostat like me (180) with a colder fan setting your heater wont get that hot. Now that i deleted the coolant bypass valve my heater is nice and hot. Ive owned a few 2nd gen f-body's and they never had them from the factory. GM ran coolant through the TB in case some a##hole felt like driving there TPI car through a sub-zero Alaskan winter. Neither are necesary and are a waste of space.

Re: tb coolant bypass???
When i got rid of the heater valve i reused the hose going from the valve to the port by the passenger side manifold for it has a 90 degree bend in it... kind of. It did have to be cut so remember it will not work if you plan on re installing it the right way. They sell those hose plugs everywere and you'll need one. While there pick up a hose repair kit and DONT buy the plastic one's. All in all it will cost about 15 bucks to do what i did. As for the TB pick up a tube of Jb weld, remove the IAC valve and the plate its attached to, cut off those nipples, fill in with said JB puddy and let dry. I then sanded down the ends flush for a nice finish and put it back together. When i took those pics it took me all of 2 mins to take the TB off.

Re: tb coolant bypass???
i did that today, i got a barb male to male fitting at home depot for 3 dollars brass. heater hose at autozone and clamps. I replaced the t-stat also 180* high flow mr gasket. I had a question. i noticed the gasket between the tb and plenum was upside down. it was blocking the middle hole passage on the tb. is that bad? hmm its right side up now. power.
*turns out because the gasket for the Tb was upside upon inspection. i believe that it was blocking the port vacuum to the egr solenoid/valve, canister. EEK but its better now.
