Re: no heat dont know why
If you aren't getting heat then either the swing door isn't working properly or your heater core is clogged up. Either one will require you to tear apart the dash to check the heater core area. I suppose to can feel both hoses of the heater core in the engine compartment when the car is at operating temperature. If one is hot and one is cold, then your heater core is clogged and needs to be replaced.

they both seem hot to me but do you think the PO could of just put a hose on it inside the heater box and also my temp gauge goes from 100 to 220 to 260 and the temp gauge never gets to the fifth line and if i switch it to defrost i dont feel anything coming from the defrost areabut i can feel cold air comin from the vents. i started to tear it apart today but ran out of time and had to put it back together so i could get to college but ran short of being able to get to the heater box but i did take the blower moter out and its pretty dirty looks like its still the orig

And clogged doesn't always mean clogged.
I went rounds with the one in my wagon over a few years.
Could blow through it fine, a garden hose flowed through it fine but nothing but a new one got me good good heat.

Dude, check your thermostat! Your thermostat may be sticking. The next time your temp looks like its hitting somewhere around 240-260 degrees then pop your hood and check to see if the fan on the passenger side of the radiator is working. This will verify if your car is truly overheating, as this fan only comes on when your car hits 240 degrees. I am assuming that you own a TPI car , right?
Re: no heat dont know why
Check the vacuum line for your hvac. It looks like a hard plastic tube coming from the firewall (passenger side) and connects to the rear of the tpi manifold. That vacuum line controls your vents ect...

Re: no heat dont know why
check coolant level, if your gauge is bouncing around like that, you may have a leak and the gauge only reads when it feels coolant and when coolant doesn't touch the sensor, it'll read 260 instantly.
