bad things happen
It is time once agian that i call upon the collective knowlage of tgo. a few days ago i was driving home from school and my camaro started running very rough. its stumbling off the line and under acceleration to the point where its undrivable. idle is somewhat irratic going anywhere from 1200-1600rpms. its also running very rich, the exhaust smells very strongly of gas. this happend all at once, took off from a stop sighn and bam. ive checked a few things so far, fuel pressure 42 psi with vacuum 48 psi without vacuum. all injectors OHMs are between 16-18. vacuum itself is at 17 hg, same as it was a few months ago. going to check TPS and IAC later today along with plugs and wires. any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: bad things happen
TPS and IAC are good. wires look good, plugs are starting to get black from running to rich, but are still mostly tan. they all reak of gasoline. could this be a O2 sensor problem or a bad CTS?

Re: bad things happen
sounds like maf sensor to me, unplug your maf and note the change.
did you check your fuel pressure with the engine under a load (pumps only sometime fail 100% all at once). In otherwords you may be experiencing a lean condition under load.

yeah check the CTS, replace it and the wire connector. defiantly that. to test the maf, check for codes first, first while the engine running, carefully slap the maf. fearful of the alternator and fans. i dont think the o2 sensor would do that

Re: bad things happen
Ill replace the CTS later today and see it it makes a change. the computers not throwing any codes. if by under load you mean with the engine on, im at 42 PSI from the pump. ill try unplugging the maf and see what happens. thank you for the responses.

Got a scanner? See what temp the computer thinks the engine is before just replacing a possibly good sensor.

Re: bad things happen
by under load he means reving the engine to above an idle. Say 3-4k rpms.

Re: bad things happen
oddly enough, the problem has gone away. all i did was fill up the tank and run injector cleaner through it. while driving today the stumbling and smell got bettter and better until it was gone. im thinking that i may have sucked up some gunk from the bottom of my tank (problem started when i was very low on fuel.) and it clogged up on of my injectors. thanks again for everyones imput
