looking for a new cam

im thinking about putting a new cam in my iroc. last winter i put in a new crate 350, it was the GM 350/290. now im ready for more. the current cam specs are duration is 222 degree intake and exhaust, and lift is .450 intake and .460exhaust. the cam type is Hydraulic flat tappet. so i was wondering what kind cam you guys think i should go with and i was wondering what kind of power increase i would see. i also daily drive this car in the summer so i dont want it to be extremely agressive. i know you have to replace your valve springs but i was wondering if there was anything else you had to do. thanks guys, now im off to work.........

Re: looking for a new cam

Comp Cams has a program you can download and use for free called Cam Quest... I've used it a number of times when purchasing a cam and so far very pleased with the results... Also, a phone call to one of their techs will provide a lot of good information....

Choosing the right cam is a very engine specific task....many variables go into the selection...what works great in another guys car can end up being a total pooch in yours.....
