oil filter/cooler
i removed my oil cooler and now my oil filter will not fit on...does ne 1 know what i have to buy to get it to fit on????92 pontiac 5.7 tpi

If it was the sandwich type cooler that fitted between the block and oil filter you need to remove the oil cooler adapter bolted to the block and bolt on a regular filter adapter from any SBC
Keep the adapter , it is the only way you can fit the cooler to another block if you go to sell it

its the type that gets sandwitched between the filter and the block.and two lines run off of it to a cooler.so i guess it is a sandwitch type.soo...do u know where i can get the other adapter(jegs or summit )maybe

so therre is one with a bypass valve and one without........ i need the one with the bypass valve????????

Depends, I prefer the ones without a bypass so the engine always gets clean filtered oil but I also have a practically burst proof System 1 washable extra long mesh oil filter, on a std. filter I wouldn't use the non bypassing kind.

so if i run a regualer oil filter i should buy one with the bypass valve??......just makin sure i understand
