What is this?

I got an 1988 camaro RS V6 i was looking around seeing what was loose under the hood and i found this.
It connects from the back of the air intake splits into two. one heading to the break booster and the other leading to this host that broke off.
it got cocked together and i dont know what calve it connects too.
I just need to know what it is so i can replace it.

The valve is covering in cocking.

And this is what broke off of it.

Looks like a vacuum elbow that connects 2 hard plastic lines.

Well ill try. I followes the rest of the line. The thick one leads to the break booster and the smaller one leads to the vapor cotainer

Hello vetteoz!!

I would say BINGO!! However, it does look like the tapered end of the valve has been shoved into the larger brake booster hose!!

Hello Foster382!!

Take a real good look at the valve in vetteoz's picture, and the first one of your's, and you will see that it looks like the tapered end of the valve is inserted into the brake booster hose!! It sure looks like someone broke it, and didn't want to replace it, so they just hooked it up "wrong" as best as they could!!

The reason I asked about the miss is because my car was missing badly for about 3 weeks now.. Idled like it had a cam in it...LOL Could not figgure out where the miss was coming from to save my soul...

anyway, that same area as your was broke on mine. I used a t fitting to reconnect the vacum lines... Problem solved. Car purs and idles like a kitten.
Miss completely gone!

Its the same setup but I did not do anything spectacular to fix it...
I simply got a vacum tee where the line was broke and spliced.
