speedo no longer works

I just recently swapped a 165 ECM in place of the 302 ECM in my 86 2.8 Firebird. The speedometer no longer works now, what can i do to correct this, also it idles at 2000 rpm now too. Any ideas?

well since its an 86 the speedo is cable drivin or it should be so either the gear in the transmission is broke/grinded down or the cable broke or something onlong that line.

It's an electronic speedo, and does not have a cable. 86 was the first year for firebirds to have it, 90 for camaro.

so how would i fix it? I got the idle problem fixed. Now i just need my speedo to work again

I am not sure where this would be located in the prom. I loaded it up in rttuner and looked at everything, but theres nothing on the speedo signal.

Im not familiar with the Computer but maby the shipset configuration and configuration is different from both boards. With that said, possibly the PROM is having trouble with the new or different board.

try switching out the Computers and see if there is a difference. If it works agian with the old one, then maby the new computer is bad or just not compatible with the PROM as in not programmed or syncronized. Just a wild guess.
