Car will start with Fluid and Stay Running

Hello, Thanks in advance for your help.

92 Pontiac Firebird Formula 5.0 with a 305.

Every once in a while (once a day), my car will turn over but wont fire. I have to use starting fluid to get it running and then it will stay running. Once the car is running, if it idles below 500 rpm it will die, so i upped the idle so it wont hit 500.

I replaced the fuel filter for the heck of it, because i had a brand new one i never used. I also replaced the battery. To me, everything points to an ignition issue, but i wanted the experts opinion on it.

Also, im not sure if this is a coincidence, but the same time this started up, my radiator cooling fan doesnt come on. It will run with the AC on. Im pretty sure is the cooling fan relay but its just weird this happened at the same time as my other problem.

Any ideas?

I would check the CTS - coolant temp sensor with an ohmmeter, and also datalog to double-check what the ECM is seeing.
