Re: whats my max rpm?

Forged or cast parts?

Cast: Stay under 5500-6000

Forged: bump the above numbers by about 500.

Balanced? You can probably go higher.

Re: whats my max rpm?

To be 'safe', I would keep it under 6500 then.

Hello ploegi!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the rpm limit determined by the valve train?? As I thought that the limit was there to prevent valve float, which in turn causes valves, and pistons to meet, which is very detrimental to an engines life span!!

Re: whats my max rpm?

Yes thats right. But the rpm limit isnt ONLY determined by valve train. Its just another part. Forged internals raise it a bit, but is mainly for durability and forced induction. I wont be hard on this engine, but was just curious. Thanks for the replys guys

Re: whats my max rpm?

I'd just set it to 6000... that cam is probably going to make the power peak around 5800 in that motor, so theres no point revving it much higher than that anyway.
