Switching to open air element, what are these 3 things?
What are these three things that hook into the stock air cleaner bottom, and what should be done with them when I get the open air element bottom?

Top left one runs from the PCV. This should run to the front middle nipple (3/8" nipple) on the TBI unit.
Bottom middle is an Air Intake Temperature Sensor for the flap in the intake arm I believe.
Top middle I am unsure. Maybe the Thermac? This can be plugged on the TBI unit with a 3/16" cap.

Top center is the air temp sensor(NEEDED), you can drill a hole in your new base. Top left is a type of oil catcher, when unplugged you can just turn the "elbow" piece away till you get a breather to stick in the valve cover.(any parts store) Bottom I believe has to do with opening the flap in the part above the manifold to allow hot air from manifold on cold start up , will not be needed. There will be a vacuum hose that can be plugged up or connected to base from the front of the TB.

The filter-looking thing on the top left is a filter. Provides filtered air to the crankcase for the positive crankcase ventilation system. A filtered cap or other small filter in the valve cover grommet will take its place.
Top center is the inlet air temperature for the computer. Needed. Mount it in your (illegal) open element air cleaner base.
Bottom center is a thermal vacuum switch for the flap in the snorkel. Cap the vacuum port that feeds it.

So, is the center hole (that fits around my tbi) called the inlet? I'm thinking of ordering this one
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G3000B/?rtype=10
and it says "5 1/8 in. Inlet." Do I just have to make sure the diameter of my center hole 5 1/8 inch also or is the inlet something else?

5-1/8" is the "standard" 4-bbl and TBI air cleaner size.
You don't want that particular base, because it's raised, and you need a dropped base so your hood will close.
Why not just get a complete open element assembly with a dropped base?

Check on the TBI forum to be sure, but I believe the only thing that will fit is a dropped base.

Re: Switching to open air element, what are these 3 things?
My car had a half inch spacer and it had a 3.5 inch filter with a drop base setup for it and it fit fine although the wingnut put a hole in the matting. This was back when it was still a 305 TBI.

The key was to get the half inch throttle body spacer for it I think.

Re: Switching to open air element, what are these 3 things?
Alright guys, I can't believe the confusion I still have this close to starting my car.
For the air intake temp sensor. Is this a blue weatherpack connector with 2 wires, 1 tan 1 black. Only reaches right behind my intake.
This was unhooked on my car when I bought it (assume when it was rebuilt they never snapped it back in) and had no check engine lights. The car did come with the stock intake but nothing in it. This is why I wasn't going to mess with it and tucked it behind the dizzy. Since this is the way I found it, I only have the connector and not what goes into the intake.
Is this the correct part. Or this (Since it looks more like the one posted by the OP) What would be the best way to install this, drill out a hole and just screw it in? I was thinking on finding a grommet a bit smaller to shove it into.
Also I have an offset base plate which sits the air filter 1 1/2" forward, since it was to close to my dizzy and was hitting my coil (Which is why I don't understand how a straight drop base is working for other TBI guys, I used one and in no way was it ever going to fit no matter how I arranged my coil, its wires or the dizzy wires). But oh well on that note.
Let me know the right part, ill order it ASAP and get myself back on track.

The one from summit may be the one. But it looks totally different from what I have. That's probably because they don't make them like factory anymore.

Well, all of them seem to be around $20 anyway so I am going to pick up the MSD one, plus a nice grommet to fit it in for a clean install. Thanks guys. Back on track.

Update: I went with this flat one here
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BSP-RP1508/?rtype=10
and it fits perfectly, so long as you remove the spacer. All I needed was a slightly longer air cleaner stud and it fits perfectly.
