plenum hoses/lines

Greetings everyone. My 1st time to this site & forum, as is this being my 1st Camaro. I will be posting pics when it's daylight, but I thought if I described the issue, someone might have an idea of what I'm fishing for.
The car: 92 Z28 25th Annv, 5.7 TPI. I'm the 3rd, possibly 4th owner. The kid I bought it from says the previous owner yanked the motor and had it rebuilt. Anyway, I had problems a couple weeks ago with it not starting. Traced it to a bad fuel pump, and discovered along the way someone had tried to replace the pressure reg but it was leaking. Got all that fixed last week at my friends house. Also along the way we noticed that someone had disconnected a couple hoses coming from the intake end of the plenum, right near where the electrical connectors snap on. (I'm not 100% on the correct terminology yet). One fairly good size hose comes off the plenum on the passenger side. The hose is maybe 4" long and is just capped off hack job style. The other comes off the front of the plenum, underneath, facing the serp belt. It too is capped off. To me they look like they should "go" somewhere. I can't seem to find a good blow up or schematic of the vacuum line config for this model/year. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. I will get some pics added in the next day or two to assist with my description. Thanks a bunch!

Re: plenum hoses/lines

Thanks KN, but they aren't part of that set up. I'm beginning to think they are supposed to be cooling lines. Here's a few pics to help.

The 1st one is on the passenger side of the intake. The red arrow indicates where it connects to the throttle body, just behind and below the electrical connection.

The next one is taken from the drivers side. Note the spout under the intake with the rubber cap on it.

I think these two areas are related. Perhaps one is the "inlet" and the other the "outlet" for plenum cooling? I was thinking the hose with the duct tape should go to the valve just to the left of it. If so, a previous owner bypassed it directly to the water pump. Hope this helps clarify what I'm fishing for. I can get more pics if anyone needs it. I have the Haynes manual but it doesn't really describe what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Re: plenum hoses/lines

Hey, I just checked out the pics you posted, the previous owner just did a throttle body bypass on it, I just did that to my car actually just a little trick to keep the incoming air cooler. Some say it gives approx. 7 more hp? not really sure if it does or not. Anyways, if you check out the tech articles on the main page there is an article that shows how to do it. It was originally put in place to keep the Throttle Body from getting frozen up in extreme cold conditions but I only run my car in the summer so I don't worry about the freezing up.

Thanks a bunch dude!

I had an idea that's probably what they were for. I don't plan on driving it in extreme cold anyway. I'll leave it as is.
