cam help?
Im in the middle of building a bone budget 350 to run on pump gas and need a few insights from other people to make sure my math is right and that this will work so I dont waste money.
Heres the set up
350 2 bolt main 30 over stock deck height
stock crank with pink rods 5.7
speed pro flat tops 2vr
enginequest 350E vortec heads with 86/later intake pattern 1.94/1.50 64cc chambers 170cc intake
doing the math (c-p+g+d+v)\(c-p+g+d) Im getting 9.73/1 compression
I was planning on using a comp cams 282S to bring the dynamic down to 8.8/1 which is right in line for a street/strip motor. Any thoughts on a better cam this car is an everyday driver.

Re: cam help?
Ive checked them out befor I bought them their not swirlports flow #'s are decent for what I paid for them better than the 441's I have so slight inprovement
intake exhaust
.100 54 .100 49.3
.200 103.9 .200 87.6
.300 147.6 .300 118.8
.400 194.4 .400 139.7
.500 224.3 .500 148.5
28in of water no pipe
thats as cast I have to clean them up a little yet the shop I took them to to have the spring seats cut said they look pretty good for the as cast finish might have them opened up to 2.02/1.60 yet too if it fits in the budget

Small detail, but it's '87-later intake pattern. The "Vortec" part still doesn't fit, because that's '96-'99 intake pattern.
Are these aftermarket castings, or rebuilt factory heads?
No flow numbers after .5" lift, I presume. Were you thinking of limiting lift to that?

Re: cam help?
aftermarket heads brandnew bare I was going right around 510 lift max but not set on that
they were flowed to .700 but they lose steam after .500 only 3 or 4 cfm increase after .500
just looked it up they are stock style replacement heads for 12558062, 10239906 (true vortec) with modified intake runners they are machined for guideplates and studs
